U11 Mooresville player wins AAU award
Omar Mohtady, 11, was awarded the Queen City Athletic Association's Force Award Sept. 12 at the organization's awards banquet in Huntersville.
The honor is the highest recognition the Charlotte-based AAU basketball association gives to its athletes. A Force Award is given for each age division.
In 2009, he was the U10 MVP at The Rumble, the largest AAU basketball tournament in the state, and was also a member of the Force U10 Red team that finished second at the USBA National Tournament in Myrtle Beach.
