Cooler season still has hot spots

With the change of seasons, many area restaurants are revamping their menus to accommodate the cooler weather. Read on for recent restaurant closings and weekly specials to motivate you away from the kitchen on hectic days.

Galway Hooker Pub

Located in Kenton Place, the Galway Hooker Pub is gearing up to roll out a new menu, featuring more food and beverages from local food growers, wineries and breweries than ever before by late October.

Owner Chris Boukedes said the goal of the new menu is to "embrace the new season as well as the organic and local flavor in our community."

The gastropub features a variety of traditional and Irish fare, including appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and soups and salads.

In addition, Galway Hooker Pub operates the Comedy Zone Club in a 4,000 square-foot space above the restaurant every Tuesday night starting at 8 p.m. The Comedy Zone Club offers a non-smoking environment and full bar and dinner menu. Upcoming guests in October include Ron Feingold, Jim Holder, Jamie Kennedy and Jerry Farber.
