Hough High's soccer squad barely made the 4A playoffs as a wildcard selection, but that didn't stop the first-year program from upsetting traditional powerhouses and making a name for itself. The Huskies, who entered the playoffs 8-12-1, defeated Porter Ridge (14-6-2), AC Reynolds (14-5-3) and fellow I-Meck wildcard Mallard Creek (10-9-6).
The senior-less team, coached by David Smith, had good performances from Nathaniel Goodwin, Eric Livingston, Santiago Patiño and Cheyn Roux in the postseason.
