Testing McGuire sirens: Mecklenburg officials will sound the sirens at McGuire Nuclear Station at about 11:50 a.m. today as part of a normal quarterly test. In an emergency, sirens would sound repeatedly. Details: EnergyExplorium, at 1-800-777-0003, option 1.

Collegiate Challenge 2011: More than 55 students will come to the area to help build homes through Our Towns Habitat for Humanity's spring break.
