Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg
Rotary Club donation: The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg presented $5,000 to representatives of local service agencies Jan. 19. Proceeds came from the Rotary's continuous fundraising efforts. Recipients of the donation were Solomon House, Ada Jenkins Center, YMCA and United Family Services.
Environmental Action Coalition
Green Ball: The Environmental Action Coalition of Davidson College will host the seventh annual Green Ball 7 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Chambers Building, Lilly Family Gallery, 102 N. Main St., Davidson. This contra dance fundraiser for Davidson Lands Conservancy will include a brief lesson, a silent auction and music by Suns of the Full Moon. Tickets: $8 for students and $10 for community members in advance; $12 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the conservancy, which works to protect natural, open space in the Town of Davidson. Dinner at Davidson: The Davidson College Student Government Association invites the public to the second annual Dinner at Davidson, 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at Davidson College, 102 N. Main St.

Benefit dinner: Hearts for Holt will hold a benefit Feb. 12 for the Hope for Holt Foundation. The foundation raises awareness about cystinosis and supports the Cystinosis Research Foundation search for a cure. Holt Grier is battling this rare, incurable disease. The 6 p.m.-12 a.m. event will include dinner, entertainment and live and silent auctions. It will be held at the Charlotte Country Club. Tickets are $125 online and $150 at the door. Gala: The Harrison Nichols Foundation Believe in the Unbelievable Annual Gala 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at Center Stage@NoDa featuring entertainment, food, an auction and a raffle.
