Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Members are admitted at 9 a.m. The museum is also open noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
Activities: At the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, visitors can find butterflies floating about flowers, black bears splashing in pools of water and lemurs crouching in trees. Outdoor exhibits include a dinosaur trail, farmyard, railway, wetlands and structure park. Guests can explore wildlife close-up on a 750-foot deck. Currently, the museum's red wolf is expecting pups. Inside the museum, exhibits like the Magic Wings Butterfly House, Contraptions, Investigating Health, and soundSpace, await guests. The museum will host Night at the Museum: Moonlight, Magic and Martinis 7:30-11p.m. June 10. The event is $65 and tickets include food, beer, wine and soft beverages. Dining and entertainment inside the museum will be provided.
Cost: Adults are $12.95. Seniors age 65 and older, and those with active military ID, $10.95. Children ages 3-12 cost $9.95. Children under 3 are free. Train rides are an additional charge of $2.75 per person.

Directions: I-85 N. toward Greensboro. Slight right at I-85 BUS N./U.S.-29 N./U.S.-70 E. (signs for Greensboro). Continue to follow I-85 BUS N. Continue onto I-85 N. Take exit 176 to merge onto U.S.-501 N./North Duke Street. Turn right at West Murray Avenue. Destination will be on the right.
