You can help firefighters with the Fill-the-Boot Campaign

Firefighters from the Mooresville Fire Department need your help to fill the boots.

They will be at the main entrance to the Winslow Bay Shopping Complex, N.C. 150 at Bluefield Road, May 20-22 to raise funds through the Fill-the-Boot Campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The Mooresville Fire Department has a 10-year history supporting MDA through Fill-the-Boot.

Last year the firefighters in Mooresville collected over $26,000.

Mooresville Firefighters also spent time with children at summer camps and have cooked a meal each year for campers. Two firefighters have served as counselors.

Proceeds raised during the campaign will help support MDA services and research programs, including summer camp programs, support groups, and local clinics.

MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat more than 40 neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and professional and public health education. The association's programs are funded almost entirely by individual private contributions.
