Hough High

Performance: The Hough High Theatre Department presents a series of one-act plays "Tales of Love and Death...but Mostly Death." 7 p.m. May 27 and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 28 in the Hough Theatre. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Pre-Engineering program: Hough High was recognized by Project Lead the Way, a certification organize for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students may now earn college credit for Project Lead courses taken in high school. Representatives from Duke University and North Carolina Department of Instruction concluded the school met the standards set by the Project Lead organization.

Davidson Day

Art competition winner: Eighth-grader Hanna Goyette received honorable mention in the second annual Southern Teachers Agency Student Art Contest. Goyette competed among 400 submissions from almost 100 schools.
