Hours: The Blueberry Festival will be held 7 a.m.-9 p.m. June 18. The opening ceremony at the event will take place at 10 a.m.

Activities: Visitors to the North Carolina Blueberry Festival will find something for the entire family to enjoy. From blueberry-filled baked goods to live bands, the festival will have more than 20 different events for guests to participate. To kick off the event, there will be a 5K run at 7:30 a.m., followed by the opening ceremony. The Craig Woolard Band will be taking the stage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Spare Change from 3-5 p.m., and The Band of Oz will play from 6 -9 p.m. At the festival, guests can also participate in a recipe contest, barbecue cook-off, view special exhibits and tour a car show. This year's Blueberry Festival is anticipating about 30,000 people. Festival operators ask individuals to please leave their pets at home.

Cost: The festival is free.

Directions: Take Interstate 74 East to N.C. 11/General Howe Road. Turn left onto N.C. 11 N/General Howe Road. Continue to follow N.C. 11 N. Turn right onto N.C. 11 N/N.C. 53 E. Continue to follow N.C. 53 E. Turn right onto South Wright Street. Destination will be on the left.
