Fans from around the region met Michael Waltrip and other NASCAR racers, got autographs and watched special pit-crew demonstrations at Waltrip's 140,000-square-foot Cornelius shop at Exit 28 last Wednesday.
Seventeen-year-old Tyler Medine even traveled from Greenville, Tenn., to wait in line holding his father's car trunk lid to get an autograph from driver Martin Truex Jr.
Michael Waltrip Racing began more than a decade ago as a family-owned Nationwide Series team in Sherrills Ford.
