River basin tour: The Crazy Kayakers, along with the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation, will hit the Catawba River basin during the weekends of June and July to promote water quality awareness and to proclaim recreational water usage of the basin. The group will begin its paddle trip near the river headwaters on Lake James and end at Lake Wateree State Park. Supporters are invited to social events along the way. Details:


Shakespeare Unplugged: Youth auditions for "Macbeth - Shakespeare Unplugged" with the Davidson Community Players' Connie Company will be3-5 p.m. or 5-7 p.m. June 6 in the Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St. Workshops are Aug. 1-Sept. 25. Wheelchair basketball: Huntersville will host the National Wheelchair Basketball Association's International Tournament of Champions Aug. 7-14 at four Huntersville Parks and Recreation gyms. "This is a great opportunity for our community to host an event on an international stage," said Huntersville Parks and Recreation Director Michael Jaycocks.
