Characters Wanted

Carolina Renaissance Festival: The outdoor theater in Huntersville will hold open auditions for street characters, musicians, dancers and variety acts 9 a.m.-noon July 9 and 6:30-9:30 p.m. July 13 at Spirit Square Arts center, 345 N. College St. in Charlotte.

Cornelius

Community Project: Our Towns Habitat for Humanity is working with Grace Covenant Church to make repairs on homes in the Smithville neighborhood. A reception with live music and free food will follow the community service work: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Smithville Community Center, 19412 S. Hill St. in Cornelius.
