New athletic director: Davidson Day announced Matt Neville as its new athletic director. He started at the private school July 1. Neville comes to Davidson Day from the Asheville School, where he served as assistant athletic director and director of athletic facilities. He also was the school's head football, wrestling and baseball coach since 2007. Neville also held positions at schools, including Charlotte County Day, where he helped the football team win two state titles.
New website: The school's homepage features a new look and improved navigation. The school would like to remind parents that Edline posts current information about student, including grades, classes, forms and more.
Choice and Voice curriculum: Parents of rising seventh- and eighth-graders have been emailed course registration documents for first trimester language arts, science, social studies, fine arts and music electives as part of the expansion of the choice and voice curriculum. The curriculum allows students to enjoy choosing courses that have a specific appeal to their interests and aptitudes, while insuring the get essential skills in each academic discipline.
Top 100: Davidson Day was selected as one of the top 100 small businesses in North Carolina. They were the only school listed and was also named the 11th small business in the Charlotte area.
