Huntersville

Siren test today: Duke Energy and Mecklenburg County officials will test the sirens around the McGuire Nuclear Station 11:50 p.m. July 13. The public is not required to do anything during the three-minute test. Siren tests at the McGuire Nuclear Station are performed every quarter to make sure they're working properly. In the event of a real emergency, the siren signals residents to tune to a radio or TV to hear the emergency message.

Swimming champions: Lake Norman's 11-12 girls relay team finished their season undefeated during the YMCA of Greater Charlotte's League Championship on June 26. Coached by Eddie Beach, this team included Hannah Rendulich, Lauren Anderson, Zoe Hambley and Hannah Ellington.
