Book Garden Update: Davidson commissioners recently approved a capital project ordinance that established a $102,650 budget for the proposed Davidson Public Art Commission's Book Garden.

The budget includes:

$5,000 for completing construction documents.

$20,000 for three sculptures by artist Lydia Musco.

$3,500 for landscaping and tree preservation at the site.

$74,150 for construction.

The project is expected to be complete this fall.

Rotary Club officers: The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg announced its 2011-12 officers and directors.
