On Oct. 10, Charlotte City Council will make nominations to fill vacant positions or make reappointments on several boards.

Applications to serve are available at 704-336-7494 or online at charmeck.org. Applications must be completed with signature and returned to the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Sept. 23. Positions open include:

Bicycle Advisory Committee: Two appointments for three-year terms beginning Jan. 1.

Time commitment: 1-2 hours per month. Meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday at 600 E. Fourth St.

Charlotte Housing Authority: One appointment for a three-year term beginning Dec. 18.

Time commitment: 3 hours per month. Meets at 5 p.m. on the third Tuesday at 1301 South Blvd.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Development Corp.: One appointment for an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending Oct. 31, 2012.

Time commitment: Two hours per month. Meets at noon on third Thursday at Charlotte Chamber, 330 S. Tryon St.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Access Corp.: One appointment for an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending June 30, 2013.

Time commitment: Two hours quarterly. Meets at 12:30 p.m. on third Wednesday quarterly, at 613 Calvert St.

Housing Appeals Board: One appointment for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1.

Time commitment: Two to three hours per month. Meets at 1 p.m. on second Tuesday at Old City Hall, 600 E. Trade St.

Keep Charlotte Beautiful: One appointment for an unexpired term beginning immediately and ending June 30.

Time commitment: 1-2 hours per month. Meets at noon on first Monday at 600 E. Fourth St.

Neighborhood Matching Grants Fund Review Team: An unexpired term for a school system employee recommended by CMS superintendent; expires April 15.

Time commitment: 14 hours per year. Meets Quarterly at noon at Old City Hall, 600 E. Trade St.

Small Business Enterprise Loan Fund: One appointment for a three-year term beginning Oct. 2.

Time commitment: Two hours quarterly. Meets at Self-Help Credit Union, 926 Elizabeth Ave.

Tree Advisory Commission: Three appointments for three-year terms beginning Dec. 14.

Time commitment: 3-15 hours per month. Meets at 6 p.m. on third Tuesday at 600 E. Fourth St.
