Sixty-Five Roses Fall Fest: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 24. Benefit for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Craft vendors, food, petting zoo, door prizes, live entertainment from Chosen Vessels, Karla Causey and the Rock Springs Bluegrass Band. Admission: $5 adults; free for those younger than 12. Mooresville Intermediate

Running track dedicated: Students and staff recently dedicated a new running track to the late Kim Suitt, a former school volunteer. The track was built over the summer by the school's Parent-Teacher Organization and Pete Denicola, who provided his services for free.

9/11 Memorial: The entire student body and staff gathered around the school's flagpole Sept. 9 to observe a moment of silence and recite the Pledge of Allegiance to honor those in the U.S. military and those who lost their lives Sept. 11, 2001.
