Wellness fair: The North Mecklenburg Senior Center, 18731 West Catawba Ave., Cornelius, will host its annual wellness fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

The event will feature exercise classes, health vendors and health screenings.

Senior classes: The town's Parks and Recreation department announced two new Davidson Senior Scholars programs for October and November. Registration is not required, and the programs are free.

Interim finance officer: The town of Davidson's Finance Director Eric Hardy resigned to take a position with the city of Asheville.

Davidson has hired Linda "Holli" Hollifield-Rogozinski to serve as the interim finance director.

Hollifield-Rogozinski served as director of finance and risk management for the city of Burlington from 1996 to 2010.


Fall festival: Denver Days organizers announced the judges for this year's Denver's Got Talent segment on Oct. 1.

The judges will be Eddie Knox, former mayor of Charlotte; Paul Silas, coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, and Rhonda Harrill, principal at Rock Springs Elementary School.
