Bandys High

Graduation orders: Oct. 19 during lunch. Basic package (cap, gown, hat, tassel, diploma, diploma cover and mini-diploma) is $65, required in order to participate in graduation. Announcements and other items also available.

ASVAB testing: Oct. 26-27. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a timed, multi-aptitude test required for consideration for enlistment in the military; also provides an indication of how well a student may do on the ACT or SAT tests required for college admission.

Lake Norman High

Iredell-Statesville Schools Area Advisory Council meeting: 7 p.m. Oct. 20, auditorium.

"Eat More Chikin' " Contest: Through Oct. 22, Chick-fil-A, River Highway at Lakeside Business Park, Mooresville. Contest between Lake Norman and Mooresville high schools. School that collects the most receipts wins $1,000.

Brawley Middle

Mount Mourne Middle

Sweatpants sale: Physical education department is selling sweatpants to raise money for PE equipment. The all-black sweats have "Mt. Mourne School" in gold on the left thigh. $20 per pair. Place orders online during October at osp.osmsinc.com/ISS/BVModules/CategoryTemplates/Detailed%20List%20with%20Properties/Category.aspx?categoryid=AJ032. The sweats will arrive in early November.

Coddle Creek Elementary

Penny War winners: Kindergarten classes won the school's "Penny War," which raised $1,716.31.

Pumpkin contest: Oct. 25, cafeteria. Prizes awarded for most creative, scariest, funniest and best overall, along with grade-level prizes.

Lake Norman Elementary

Scholastic Book Fair: Oct. 20-21 and Oct. 24-27. Details: 704-662-8261.

Family night: 5-7 p.m. Oct. 25. Place orders at the book fair, enjoy a spaghetti dinner, tour decorated door contest. The class with the most students present will win a custom-made cake party the next day. Details: 704-662-8261.
