Bandys High

ASVAB testing: Oct. 26-27. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a timed multi-aptitude test required for consideration for enlistment in the military; it also provides an indication of how well a student can do on the ACT or SAT tests required for college entry.

Lake Norman High

Grad rate honors: N.C. Education Superintendent June Atkinson, Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton and N.C. Board of Education Chairman Bill Harrison recently honored the school as one of 32 high schools statewide that had the highest four-year cohort graduation rates in the 2010-11 school year.

Scholarship winner: Leeanne Stoltzfus was one of five area students to receive $1,000 scholarships from the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas for their efforts at organizing blood drives.

South Iredell High

Brawley Middle

Powder-puff game: 4:15 p.m. Nov. 3, athletic field. A team of seventh-graders will play the eighth-graders as a fundraiser for the school's Student Support Services Department. Tickets: $3 for adults, $1 for students.

Five Guys day: 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 654 River Highway, Mooresville. Principal Jimmie Dancy will be in the kitchen grilling burgers. A portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

Mount Mourne IB Middle

Phoenix Phall Run: 1:45 p.m. Nov. 6, The Point Lake and Golf Club, Vestal Drive, Mooresville. A 5K road race through the streets of the lakeside development to raise money for Tiny Hands International. Registration 1:45-2:45 p.m. Race begins 3 p.m. Entry fee $20 per runner. Troutman Middle

Yearbook orders: Order before Dec. 21 and pay $25; price increases after that. Order form available online at bit.ly/nDrMir.

Mooresville Intermediate

Drive-in movie and car show: 5-10 p.m. Oct. 29. Fundraiser for school's planned trip to Space Camp.

Shepherd Elementary

Give Back Days: All day Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, The Sports Page, 128 Argus Lane, Suite D, Mooresville. Give receipt to server to save for the school, and part of the sales proceeds will go to the school. Information: 704-664-2582.
