Mooresville High

HBCU College Fair: 6:30-8 p.m. Nov. 15. The inaugural Historically Black College and Universities college fair will have representatives from 10 area colleges and universities on hand, with more expected. Prospective students are asked to bring copies of their transcripts. Students from all area high schools are invited.

South Iredell High

ASVAB Testing: Nov. 15. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a timed multi-aptitude test required for consideration for enlistment in the military, and also provides an indication of how well a student can do on the ACT or SAT tests.

Brawley Middle

PTSO Meeting: 9 a.m. Nov. 3, media center.

Powder Puff Game: 4:15 p.m. Nov. 3, athletic field. A team of seventh-graders will play the eighth-graders as a fundraiser for the school's Student Support Services department. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for students.

Five Guys Day: 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Five Guys Burgers and Fries, 654 River Highway, Mooresville. Principal Jimmie Dancy will be in the kitchen grilling burgers; a portion of the proceeds goes to the school.

Mount Mourne IB Middle

Phoenix Phall Run: 1:45 p.m. Nov. 6, The Point Lake and Golf Club, Vestal Drive, Mooresville. A five-kilometer road race through the streets of the lakeside development to raise money for Tiny Hands International. Registration is from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.; the race begins at 3 p.m. Entry fee is $20 per runner. Forms are available at the school or online at

Yearbook Orders: Order before Dec. 21 and pay $25; after that, the price increases. Order form available online at

Photo Make-Up Day: 8 a.m. Nov. 3.

PTO-Athletics Boosters Meeting: 6 p.m. Nov. 14.

Fall Athletic Banquet: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 17. Guest speaker will be former Davidson basketball player and current European pro Logan Kosmalski. Tickets: $6 before Nov. 14, $7 at the door.

East Mooresville Intermediate

Mother-Son Movie Night: 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 18, cafeteria. Tickets: $5 per couple, $2.50 for extra EMIS students. Voting for movie will take place during week of Nov. 7-14.

Chili's Night: 3-9 p.m. Nov. 3, Chili's Restaurant, 603 River Highway, Mooresville. Mention that you are there for the school, and a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to CCES.

Lake Norman Elementary

Fall Festival: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 5. Rides, games, food, a silent auction and music.

Shepherd Elementary

Spiritwear Orders: The school's PTO will begin its second round of orders for Spiritwear on Nov. 4. Orders will be due Nov. 21.
