Water service line warranty program: The town announced a new program for homeowners provided through a partnership with the National League of Cities and Service Line Warranties of America. The Service Line Warranty program offers protection to help cover the expense of a water line break. The cost for residents to participate is $4.75 per month and will cover water line repairs up to $4,000, plus $500 for public sidewalk cutting if needed. Details: 704-663-7282.
Conservation: The town is offering rain barrels for sale. Barrels collect run-off from rooftops for irrigation and provide a way to sustain landscaping during times of drought and water restrictions. Each rain barrel comes with a brass spigot, two overflow valves and a screen to keep out debris and insects. Prices are $90 for the 60-gallon rain barrel and $100 for the 80-gallon rain barrel.
