Holiday sanitation schedule: Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, residential garbage pickup ordinarily scheduled for Thursdays will be Nov. 25.

Nominations sought: The Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the Business Person of the Year, Citizen of the Year 2011, Duke Energy Service Award, Sara Haire Tice Women in Leadership Award and Willis Barnett Entrepreneurial Award.

"Mostly Magnets": Children in grades 2-4 are invited to "Mostly Magnets," a free science-math program offered at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 17 at Sherrills Ford Branch Library.
