Bandys High

Drill team wins: The school's Army JROTC drill team took first place overall at the state JROTC "Best of the Best" Western regional competition on Oct. 29. The win, against 21 other AJROTC teams from across the region, qualifies the school's drill team to compete in the Army's JROTC regional competition at Fort Knox, Ky., in Spring 2012.

Lake Norman High

Basketball raffle: The school's basketball program is selling raffle tickets, with three prizes to be awarded during the school's game against North Mecklenburg on Dec. 9. The prizes are a 16-gigabyte Apple iPad 2, a GrillMaster four-burner stainless steel gas grill and two tickets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Carolina Panthers game on Dec. 24. Band boosters meeting: 7-8 p.m. Nov. 22, band room.

South Iredell High

Holiday bazaar: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 3, auxiliary gym. Tickets are $3 adults and $1 students and include ticket for door prize drawing. Booths available for rent by food and craft vendors; call 704-528-4536 for information.

Mooresville Middle

Winter concert: Nov. 29. Performance by the MMS band.

Mount Mourne IB Middle

Principal's coffee: 9-10 a.m. Nov. 17. Parents have the opportunity to meet with school principal Dr. Boan Nutting.

Troutman Middle

Fall athletic banquet: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 17. Guest speaker will be former Davidson basketball player and current European pro Logan Kosmalski. Tickets: $7 at the door.

East Mooresville Intermediate

Mother-son movie night: 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 18, cafeteria. Tickets: $5 per couple, $2.50 for extra EMIS students.

Coddle Creek Elementary

PTO pumpkin contest winners: Winners in the school's pumpkin-carving contest were Austin Mayfield (best overall), Maddie Holcomb (most creative), Vaishnavi Nair (funniest), Kathern and Tadem Beaver (scariest), Megan Crisco (kindergarten), Aleah Wilkinson (first grade), Hayden Herst (third grade), Devin Moss (fourth grade), Skylar Foster (fifth grade), Danya Tyler (sixth grade) and Shanin Mruawski (staff-teacher).
