Bandys High

Trojan band: The school's marching band earned a pair of first-place awards and an Excellent rating in finishing third in its division at the Newton-Conover Southeastern Classic competition recently. The Trojan Band took firsts in drum major and color guard in its division, and second overall in drum major and third overall in color guard.

Lake Norman High

"Into the Woods" auditions: Nov. 28-30 for roles in the performing arts department's production of the musical "Into the Woods." Audition signup forms posted outside auditorium.

Basketball raffle: Basketball program selling raffle tickets. Three prizes to be awarded during game against North Mecklenburg Dec. 9: a 16-gigabyte Apple iPad 2, a GrillMaster four-burner stainless steel gas grill and two tickets to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Carolina Panthers game Dec. 24.
