"Holiday Happenings:" 1-4 p.m. Dec. 3, downtown Concord, including carolers, horse-drawn wagon rides and a Gingerbread Candy Hunt, where children visit downtown businesses for items to decorate a miniature gingerbread house. "A Plantation Christmas:" Experience a 1860s Christmas, learn about 1800s Christmas traditions, meet a Victorian St. Nick and see open-hearth cooking, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 25-26, Latta Plantation, 5225 Sample Road, Huntersville. "The Light of Christmas:" Central Piedmont Community Chorus, formerly the North Mecklenburg Community Chorus, will give four free holiday concerts: Nov. 28 at University City United Methodist Church; Nov. 29 at Asbury United Methodist Church; Dec. 5 at Huntersville Presbyterian Church; and Dec. 6 at Saint Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville. Community Nativity Festival: 6-9 p.m. Dec. 1-2; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Dec. 3, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7032 McIlwaine Road, Huntersville. View 300 Nativity scenes from around the world and enjoy holiday music. Family activities include family photo, Nativity scavenger hunt, dressing in costume to enact the Holy Night, and crafts-making.
