Field trip to Atlanta: The 10th-grade English classes of Leslie McFarland, Danielle Derwich and Melissa Scire traveled to Atlanta for four days in November to study the topics of genocide and injustice. Students visited the Holocaust Museum, CNN Studios, Atlanta Zoo, Martin Luther King Jr. Historic Site, Emory Art Museum and the Coca-Cola Museum.

Administration management program: The school has been included in the national School Administration Management Project. The project tracks how much time principals spend on management and instructional leadership to help improve student learning and teacher development.
Student essay: An essay by Davidson Day sixth-grader Kara Bringewatt of Davidson has been selected for the book, "Celebrating What is Important to Me." Kara's essay, "In Defense of Some of My Favorite Books," about the Harry Potter series, was chosen from entries from the Southeast. The anthology will be published in April.
