Health classes for veterans: The W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury will provide health classes at the American Legion Post 66, 1450 N. Main St., Mooresville. The health education classes, which started on Jan. 18, will be held 10 a.m.-noon on the third Wednesday of each month for six months.

The classes will focus on diabetes self-management and will last two hours each. The classes are free. All veterans receiving VA health care are encouraged to attend. Pancake breakfast: The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg will host its annual Pancake Breakfast and Lake Norman Talent Show from 8 a.m. to noon on Feb. 11 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 19920 Bethel Church Road, Cornelius. To register for the talent show, contact Cheri Thebeau at 704-895-5612. Tickets are $10. Proceeds go to Big Brothers/Big Sisters "A Big Day at the Lake" and Seed Programs International. Trade show: The Lake Norman Chamber is taking registrations for the Lake Norman Business Expo. The event will run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. March 5 at Davidson College's Belk Arena. The trade show typically features 170 businesses and nonprofits, and about 2,500 people attend each year.
