Murdock study: A study is now enrolling patients who have been diagnosed with severe acne as young as 12 years old

Doctors will recruit 250 past or present severe acne patients who will receive a $25 gift card for an hour of their time. Visit https://www.murdock-study.com/ for more information.

Charity golf tournament: The inaugural Swing Fore A Child's Place Golf Tournament will be April 24 at River Run Country Club in Davidson.

Tee-off is at 1 p.m.

Registration is $200 per player at swingfore.eventbrite.com, and all proceeds raised will go to A Child's Place.

Jazz and arts fest: The festival "Spread the Love" will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Homewood Suites in Davidson to benefit three nonprofits: the Community School of Davidson, the Davidson Lands Conservancy and the Ada Jenkins Center.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance through Paypal by going to www.davidsonlands.org. Tickets also will be sold at the Davidson Farmer's Market on Friday.
