Home tour: Our Towns Habitat for Humanity will host a home tour to showcase a new home they built in Cornelius. In addition, representatives from Our Towns and Lowe's Home Improvement will reveal the details for the first joint partnership on a Platinum LEED home in this area. Residents are invited to attend the home tour at 10 a.m. on March 3 at 9922 Psalms St., Cornelius.

Ada Jenkins fundraiser: Davidson College will host the 6th annual ICE Gala benefiting the Ada Jenkins Center on March 3. Money raised will help programs such as LEARN, the Mobile Community Dental Clinic and the Ada Jenkins Center's free medical clinic.

The gala will include a cocktail reception, silent auction, a buffet dinner and live auction. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased online at www.adajenkins.org/events/ice. Coyote tracking: The Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Natural Resources staff recently developed a website that is focused on coyote research and educational information. The website's address is: charmeck.org/mecklenburg/county/ParkandRec/StewardshipServices/NaturalResources/Pages/Coyote.aspx.

The website offers general information on the biology and behavior of coyotes, as well as links to other online sources of information. It also has a link for residents to report coyote sightings.
