Mooresville news briefs

Mooresville

New recreation programs: The Mooresville Recreation Department is offering several new programs at the town's newest recreation facility, Talbert Recreation Center. The 26,000-square-foot center is at 210 Talbert Pointe Drive, in Talbert Pointe Executive Park.

New classes start in March, including Forever Fit Zumba, Forever Fit Club Cardio, 3-on-3 Professional League Basketball, Reflex Fit Camp, Fit Family Open Gym and Lunch Bunch Open Gym.

Gym reservations are available. Call center supervisor Ryan Jones at 704-799-4281 for information.

Donate auction items: Dove House Children's Advocacy Center needs auction items for its 11th annual fundraiser, "An Evening for Dove House," 5-11 p.m. April 28 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville. Larry Sprinkle will be the auctioneer.

The organization already is collecting items for this year's event. Items must be new, but no item or service is too large or too small. Gift certificates for services or restaurants are perfect.

Troutman

Sign removed: At its February meeting, the Troutman Board of Aldermen granted permission for the Troutman ESC Park Fund Raising Committee to remove the library fund drive sign on U.S. 21, which is no longer needed, and refurbish it to display how much money has been raised for the new park. The sign will be re-installed at a high-visibility location, officials said.
