Community in Christ Lutheran, Cornelius

New course: Adult Sunday school course “The Wired World” applies scripture to the week’s news. 9:30 a.m. Sundays starting Aug. 31.

Service day: “God’s Work. Our Hands.” On Sept. 7, the nearly 10,000 congregations of this church will serve communities in ways that share the love of God. 7621 Norman Island Drive, Cornelius.

Temple Kol Tikvah of Lake Norman

Raffle and dinner: A cash prize of $10,000 will be awarded during a reverse raffle and dinner sponsored by Temple Kol Tikvah. A maximum of 250 tickets will be sold. Winner does not need to be present to claim prize. Proceeds go to Camp Dogwood and other community efforts. Television and radio personality Stacey Simms will serve as emcee.
