Community Christmas celebration: Christmas carols, children’s games, photos with Santa, pizza, drinks and desserts. Free. 3:30-7 p.m. Dec. 7. A free showing of the classic holiday comedy “A Christmas Story” will begin at 5 p.m.

Support group: PFLAG (Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians and Gays) promotes the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through support, education and advocacy. Class: Greg Snyder, professor of religion and chair of the religion department at Davidson College, will teach a four-session course on “The Lord’s Prayer(s).” The program will reflect on the origins of the prayer in pre-gospel sources and explore how the versions in Luke and in Matthew each fit within their particular literary and theological context.
