East Mooresville Intermediate

Coat and jeans drive: The environmental earth science classes are collecting gently used coats and jeans until winter break to be donated to the Mooresville Christian Mission. Donations should be brought to the labeled bin in front office. Details: reuse4drive@gmail.com

Lake Norman Elementary

Community dinner: 5-8 p.m. Dec. 18, Brooklyn Boys, 119 Market Place Drive, Mooresville. A percentage of the evening’s proceeds benefits the school.

Troutman Middle

Teens for Jeans: The National Junior Honor Society club is participating in the national campaign Teens for Jeans by collecting new and used jeans in any size through Feb. 4. The jeans will be donated to local homeless teens and their families. Students can bring jeans to their homeroom teachers for collection by club members. Only jeans will be collected, no other types of pants. The homeroom in each grade level that collects the most jeans will receive a breakfast.

Brawley Middle

Coat drive: Girls on the Run and the beginning German class are collecting new and gently used coats to be donated to the Mooresville Christian Mission. Coats can be brought to the donation box in the front office.

South Iredell High

Baseball camp: Registration is open through Dec. 31 for the first South Iredell Viking Baseball Youth Camp for students in first-eighth grades. The camp will be held 1-5 p.m. Jan. 11, 18 and 25 and Feb. 1 at South Iredell High School. Cost is $60. Space is limited to 50 participants. The camp will focus on infield and outfield fundamentals, pitching, hitting, base running and general baseball knowledge. Campers will work with players and coaches from South Iredell High. The camp is open to all students, regardless of which high school they will attend. Details: Wesley Whitaker at wesley_whitaker@iss.k12.nc.us
