Park View Elementary

N.F. Woods Advanced Technology and Arts Center

Open house: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

Coddle Creek Elementary

Toys for Tots donations: The Coddle Creek Elementary Student Council sponsored a fundraiser before the Christmas holidays to benefit Toys for Tots of Iredell County. Students bought paper trains that were hung in the school hallways to show the number of donations made. Overall, the effort raised more than $460 to buy toys for children in the local community. Katherine Cohen’s fourth-grade donated the most money during the fundraiser.

Mount Mourne IB Middle

Chess win: The Mount Mourne Chess Team placed second in the Southern Scholastic Chess Tournament Jan. 10-11 at West Charlotte High School. The team now moves on to compete in the N.C. State Scholastic Championship Feb. 14-15 in Charlotte.

Girls on Track: Registration for the spring season of Girls on Track continues through Jan. 28. Girls on Track will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Feb. 10. The season ends with the team’s participation in a 5K on May 9. Details and registration: www.iss.k12.nc.us/Domain/1964.

Lake Norman High

Back the Cats: The Back the Cats Capital Campaign ended with a total of $6,500 raised. The campaign’s goal was $10,000. In order to get closer to the goal, contributions are still being accepted via the PayPal link at http://iss.schoolwires.com/Page/41421. Checks can also be mailed to the Lake Norman High School PTSA, P.O. Box 4865, Mooresville, NC 28117.

South Iredell High

Auditions: Auditions for the upcoming productions “Terranova” and “2” will take place simultaneously 3:30-6 p.m. Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 in the Drama classroom.
