Maya Caldwell is first to top 1,000 points at Davidson Day

Maya Caldwell, a sophomore and standout basketball player at Davidson Day School, recently became the first student in the history of the school to surpass 1,000 career points.

Caldwell has led the Patriots in scoring, assists and steals over the past two seasons and is second in rebounding.

As an eighth-grader, she was named Conference Player of the Year and a two-time All-Conference performer. In ninth grade, she was voted to the NCISAA 2A All-State team and helped lead the Patriots to a State Runner-Up finish.

Caldwell also is a two-time all-PACIS performer in tennis. Leigh Pressley
