Fire marshal: Rodney Emmett has been named Lincoln County fire marshal, replacing long-time Fire Marshal, Mike Futrell. Emmett has been an employee with Lincoln County government for the past 10 years. He has held the position of deputy fire marshal since 2011.

Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates

New hire: Rick Fogarty has joined the company as the chief information officer. Fogarty will oversee CEENTA’s Information Technology and Electronic Medical Records departments. Prior to joining CEENTA, Fogarty was the director of information systems at Pinehurst Medical Clinic in Pinehurst.

Cambridge Programme: Students involved in the program attended a one-day camp Aug. 5to participate in team-building activities, discuss program expectations and develop an understanding of the Cambridge learner attributes. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools implemented the Cambridge Programme in 2015-2016 with sixth-grade students at Francis Bradley Middle in Huntersville. In 2016-2017, the program will add seventh and eighth grades.

Catawba County

Appointed: Lance Sellers, president and chief executive officer of Peoples Bank, was appointed to a three-year term on the Catawba County Board of Social Services. He was appointed by the Catawba County Commissioners to fill the seat vacated by Michael Blackburn. Sellers has worked for the banking company since 1998; he is a graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill and began his banking career in 1984. His term on the Social Services Board will last through June 30, 2019.
