A story from Charlotte made its way through the national news cycle. It wasn’t over politics or global warming, but a Christmas display at SouthPark mall. The massive traditional Christmas tree Santa usually visits families under was replaced with a glacier, which sparked a social media uproar.

The tree is now back and the glacier is history, but there’s one perspective we haven’t heard from – Santa.

Sarah Delia spoke to Tim Connaghan or Santa Tim. Santa Tim has written about his experience as Santa, he’s a member of the National Santa Hall of Fame and he’s the official Santa for the Hollywood Christmas parade.

SouthPark Mall isn’t the first shopping center to face criticism over holiday displays, with some saying the use of non-traditional symbols is a “war on Christmas.” But what does Santa Tim think?

‘I definitely do not think this is a war on Christmas,” Santa Tim says.
