The district attorney’s office will decide if charges should be filed against the teen driver who troopers say crashed into a car carrying a woman and her three children Saturday night.
Donna Garrett, 32, died at the scene on Southpoint Road, according to investigators with the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Gaston County.
Troopers say 17-year-old Gregory Suggs Jr. may have fallen asleep at the wheel. They do not suspect any kind of impairment.
Garrett had three daughters in the car with her. A 12-year-old and 2-year-old were treated and released from the hospital. A 9-year-old was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital where she was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday evening. WBTV
