I-85 accident involving school bus sends 3 to the hospital

An accident on Interstate 85 involving a school bus sent three people to the hospital Sunday afternoon. Southbound traffic was inching through the area after lanes were blocked off.

The accident happened on I-85 driving southbound near west W.T. Harris Boulevard.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers on scene, a box truck turned over somehow while being towed by a school bus on I-85. The school bus was reportedly being used for private use and did not have any students on board.

A Mazda and Chevy SUV were also involved in the accident.

Three people were taken to the hospital, one of them, according to medic, sustained serious injuries.
