Five people were displaced after a fire broke out at a south Charlotte apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

The fire started just after 1 a.m. at the Lynden Square Apartments on Providence Road.

Fire investigators are working to determine what sparked the flames and say the fire started outside the building.

A resident at the complex said she could smell smoke in the building but didn’t hear any fire alarms going off.

No one was injured in the fire.
