Emergency crews respond to possible drowning at Latta Plantation

Emergency crews responded to a possible drowning at a popular Huntersville park Tuesday.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on the 5200 block of Sample Road, which is in Latta Plantation, a nature preserve and historic park.

Rescue crews from the Long Creek Fire Department and Medic both confirmed they were at the scene "with a possible drowning." Witnesses said a person was missing after being last seen in the water.

WBTV's Sky 3 was over the scene where search crews were on boats and in a helicopter scanning the lake. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were also on scene to assist.
