A road has reopened after a train and car collided in southeast Charlotte Monday morning.

The accident happened on Thermal Road near Monroe Road. Officials say when they arrived at the scene, no one was inside the car. They believe the person took off.

No word on injuries or exactly what may have caused the accident. A backhoe removed the car that was knocked 100 yards down the tracks.
