Emergency crews responded Tuesday to an accident involving a tractor trailer on I-77 near the North and South Carolina state line.

The wreck happened just before 3 p.m. on southbound I-77 near exit 1, which is Westinghouse Boulevard.

Officials have not released any information about the incident, but WBTV's Sky 3 was over the scene where a tractor trailer appeared to have run off the right side of the road and into a creek.

Crews worked to move someone on a stretcher from the creek bed back onto the interstate using a ladder truck parked on the bridge. The patient was then loaded into an ambulance and taken to Carolinas Medical Center.

According to Medic, the patient, whose name has not been released, was seriously injured.

It is not clear what may have caused the crash or if any other injuries were reported.
