A goat caused a bit of a scare for drivers Thursday when it ran across six lanes of the freeway during rush hour traffic.

The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Interstate 85 near the Mallard Creek Church Road exit in north Charlotte.

Timothy Parsons, who caught some of the event on camera, was driving northbound when the goat crossed to the center of the interstate.

“He was dodging all kinds of traffic before the video started,” Parsons told WBTV via Twitter.

In the video, Animal Control officers can be seen trying to capture the goat before it jumps the concrete median, landing right in front of southbound drivers. The animal then quickly dodges traffic before ending up on the far side of the interstate near a sound barrier wall.
