Two men have been arrested after an armed robbery this weekend in Concord.
Around 7:45 p.m. Saturday, a Boost Mobile store was robbed on Kannapolis Highway. Concord police say an armed man entered the store and demanded money.
Around 10:45 p.m. an office reportedly saw a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle used in the robbery. Concord police say it was traveling along U.S. 601 without its headlights on. Police say they saw a handgun in the backseat and collected evidence that links the men to the Boost Mobile robbery.
Joey Jonquail Wright, 27, and Tyriek Barnez Howard were each charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Wright also faces charges of driving with a revoked license and driving without headlights. In addition to the robbery charge, Howard is charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.
Concord police believe Wright and Howard may be responsible for a Friday night attempted robbery at the A&R Tobacco on Cabarrus Avenue. Officers say that investigation is ongoing and the men have not been charged in the A&R attempted robbery.
