Recovery teams found the body of a boater in Lake Wylie on Saturday afternoon.

Teams searched the South Carolina side of the lake all morning for Tony Hinson Jr., 44, of York, S.C.

His body was found around 1 p.m. between the Beaver Creek and Crowders Creek sections of the lake, officials said.

Emergency personnel said a boat overturned between the towns of York and Clover, S.C., Saturday morning.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said two people were leaving T-Bone’s On the Lake restaurant around 2 a.m. when their boat flipped. Officials said the boat took a sharp turn, causing it to overturn. One man made it out of the water but told police it took him an hour to swim to shore.

Officials said Hinson owned and operated the boat, so it is unlikely anyone will be charged.
