JAJ Nonprofit Resource and South Piedmont Community College’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship programs in Monroe are giving nonprofits a chance to win up to $1,500 in the Stories to Inspire On Stage competition.
The event will be June 5-6 at South Piedmont Community College and is part of the Inaugural Nonprofit Empowerment Conference.
The contest is open to nonprofit organizations in Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Anson, Lincoln or York counties that have operated for 10 years or fewer.
JAJ Nonprofit Resource is a Matthews-based business that serves nonprofits.
Applicants will be grouped into five categories: Education, Human Services, Arts and Entertainment, Health Services and Animals and Wildlife.
Judges will review the applications and select a finalist from each category.
As part of the conference on June 5, Sarah Batista, former WBTV reporter and founder of Stories to Inspire Film Production Co., will interview the five finalists on stage.
Local professionals will determine the winners.
The winning organization will receive $1,500 and the runner-up will receive $500. Applications and conference information is available at www.jajnonprofitresource.com/conference-2015.
