Saint John Neumann Catholic

Community carnival: Fifth annual SonFest will be 5-11 p.m. June 12 and 4-11 p.m. June 13 at 8451 Idlewild Road.

The festival features carnival rides, food, family Bingo, eating contests, silent auction, live music, more. Special appearance by Maney, LauRen and Roy from KISS 95.1 FM. Guest musicians include Good Courage, Waiting Hill and Bought by Blood. Free admission. Ride tickets available at entrance. Wristbands for unlimited rides will be available Friday night for $15. A portion of proceeds will benefit The Relatives, the Safe Place agency for Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas.

Park Road Baptist

Concert: The Charles Wesley Singers of Damascus United Methodist in Maryland will perform a free concert as part of the 2015 Youth Mission Choir Tour to Virginia and North Carolina.

The concert will feature sacred anthems and hymns with brass, piano, organ and soloists. Directed by Polly Edmonds Baldridge and accompanied by Steve Kalnoske, the 45 members of the choir specialize in traditional choral music and favorite hymns of the church. Ministry Development Services

Workshop: Lenore Wilkinson, counselor with Ministry Development Services, will present “Called Still? Still Called: Mid-Career Discernment.”

Community Bible Study

Bible study: Women and children of all ages, churches, backgrounds and levels of Bible knowledge are welcome to join an in-depth, 30-week study of Daniel and Revelation.
