The Pineville Park and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting for residents to learn more about the proposed splash pad and dog park the department hopes to add to Lake Park.

Park and Recreation staff will be writing a request for a $361,460 North Carolina PARTF (Park and Recreation Trust Fund) grant to fund the project. If the grant is approved, the town will be required to contribute matching funds.

The proposed additions come from a 2013 citizen survey that showed the dog park and water features were the elements residents wanted most in the park.

Residents are now invited to The Hut, 413 Johnston Dr., on Feb. 23, 6:30 p.m., to find out more about the park addition plans and give their comments. For more information call Pineville Park and Recreation Department, 704-889-2400.
